Rinpoche is a Homewrecker: Part 2
“Rinpoche, what has happened to your modelling tutor, Dr. Tröger, since he separated from his partner, Brunhild? Where is he now?”
“It’s very sad, Daddi. Do you remember how he was once the Chief Cat of All Offices at Katzenjammer Computers?”
“Didn’t you tell me that the employees of the company gave him their storeroom to use as his study and pampered him all day long with snacks and cuddles?”
“Yes, the humans really loved him, Daddi. He was their favourite resident cat. But now that Brunhild has chased him away and moved into his storeroom with her kittens, poor Dr. Tröger is homeless. With all this rain we’ve been having, I really worry that his magnificent fur will be ruined – not to mention his textbooks… Actually, Daddi, I have a small favour to ask…”
“I know where this is leading, Rinpoche. Forget it! I’m not taking in a strange cat! And I’m certainly not getting caught in the middle of this war between Brunhild and Dr. Tröger. Besides, you’d hate sharing my attention with another cat.”
“I’d be fine with it, Daddi. You know how much I admire Dr. Tröger. And you’d enjoy having conversations with him. He’s very clever and would understand all that electronics stuff you keep talking about that goes in one of my ears and out the other.”
“And I suppose you’d be fine with sharing your food, too? I’m afraid you’d have to settle for smaller portions if I adopted Dr. Tröger, Rinpoche.”
“Smaller portions, Daddi??”
“I’m afraid so, Rinpoche. Cat food is expensive, and you’re already eating me out of house and home. Surely you’d be prepared to make a small sacrifice for your good friend, Dr. Tröger?”
“Daddi, this is not going to work. I’m going right away to tell Dr. Tröger he must look for a home somewhere else.”
