“We chat all the time, Rinpoche.”

“No, Daddi, I mean a serious chat … about how you are taking liberties with lap time.”

“What do you mean, Rinpoche?”

“You never ask for my consent before picking me up and putting me on your lap. It’s demeaning to my dignity, Daddi.”

“Have you been getting these ideas from your Monday night #MeAlso meetings, Rinpoche?”

“That’s besides the point, Daddi. I’m a woman, and I deserve respect.”

“You’re not a woman – you’re a cat.

“I’m a lady cat, Daddi, and a princess, too. You shouldn’t lay your hands on me without my permission.”

“Rinpoche, I know you used to be wary of lap time in the past, but I thought you enjoyed it now.”

“I do, Daddi, but I need to initiate our lap sessions. You can’t just take liberties. For all you know, I might have a headache and not be in the mood for lap.”

“Well, Rinpoche, I’m truly sorry if I’ve offended you by taking advantage of you. I promise I’ll be more respectful of your feelings and dignity from now on.”

“Thank you, Daddi.”

“Talking of lap time, Rinpoche, you don’t happen to feel like some now? It’s a cold night, and you might enjoy snuggling up with me.”

“I’d like that very much, Daddi. And could you possibly do that tickle tummy thing that makes me rumble-purr?”

“It would be a pleasure, Rinpoche.”
